Two years ago, my husband and I traveled to Vail, Colorado and I've always wanted to share the details of this trip, but never got around to doing so until now! Enjoy, xo

Vail is quite an expensive place to vacation, but we've found that November is one of the best times to travel there as prices are not as expensive. I typically book all of our trips through Expedia because it allows us to earn points for each trip that we book. These points then transfer to cash savings that we can apply to future trips or "staycation" hotel stays at any time.

We left Houston at about 5:30am, flying with Frontier Airlines - a native airline to Colorado. The flight was amazing and we arrived in Denver about 3 hours later. Upon arrival, we grabbed our bags and shuttled to the car rental service to pick-up our rental car. I highly recommend flying into Denver, renting a car, and driving up to Vail. The views are breathtaking!

LodGing

We stayed at The Lion - Vail's newest luxury vacation rentals, and let's just say it was definitely worth the splurge! The staff were so amazing and professional. They assign a concierge to each of their guest upon arrival and extend a personal phone number that we could use to text our concierge personally throughout our trip for any of our needs. The property also included a gated indoor heated parking garage that we used to park our rental car -- this relieved any stress that we initially had about leaving the car in an unknown place, and of course kept us warm when commuting to + from the hotel to our car.

First Full Day

Day 1 was spent driving up to Vail Village. Upon arrival, we checked into our hotel and took a nap as we were both exhausted. After a quick nap, we headed out to explore the village and happened upon the most beautiful ice skating rink. If you've ever seen the Hallmark Movie Winter in Vail, we were at that exact ice rink — so cool! While there, we purchased some of the BEST hot chocolate I've ever had. To add to the romantic feels, it started snowing as we were ice skating!
After skating, we stopped for dinner at a nearby pizza spot called Blue Moose Pizza — pizza was... okay.

Day Two

Day 2 was spent exploring Vail Village! We ate breakfast at The Little Diner — breakfast was decent.
After breakfast, we explored some of the little shops in the village and decided to stop for lunch at a local restaurant. I don't remember the name of it and to be honest, the food wasn't that great, so it's not really worth mentioning lol. Later that evening, we decided to go out for whiskey tasting at a distillery in the village called 10th Mountain Whiskey & Spirits. We tried a few of their traditional whiskeys and a peach moonshine -- so good!

Final Day

Day four was our last full day and we spent the entire day exploring more of Vail Village and the surrounding areas in our rental car. I did not get many pictures as we truly wanted to spend our last day basking in the moment. The only picture I got was a photo of a drink that I had during lunch time lol. For lunch we decided to check out a restaurant called White Bison. We both ordered the Bison Burger with a side of fries.
This was our first time trying Bison... the food was exceptional!

We ended our last night sitting fireside with one last cup of hot chocolate from a local bakery before heading to our room to get some sleep before our early morning flight. All in all, Vail was a DREAM. It was literally everything you see in a winter/Christmas Hallmark movie.

Vail was one of my dream vacations. I cried when we booked the trip lol!
At the time that we visited, I was just 21 years old, fresh out of college, and we were both just entering into our careers as young professionals. We were so blessed to be able to go on and afford such an amazing trip and I will never take this for granted. I literally still thank God for this vacation.

We have decided to set a goal to visit Vail at least once a year and are hoping to continue this tradition as we grow our little family. If you've never been to Vail, Colorado, I highly recommend you go. You WON'T regret!
