Worth FIghting For

What in your life is truly worth fighting for?

Let me just start by saying:
Today's post isn't to convince you to fight for anything that you feel has run its course. It's also not meant to convince you to fight for anything in particular. This post is simply to encourage you to begin thinking about the very thing(s) in your life that might actually be worth fighting for.

Not everything in this life will come easy, and what I may feel called to fight for might be drastically different from what you or the next person reading this may feel called to do; however, we all have something in our life that is truly worth fighting for - something that God actually wants us to fight for.

Now I'd be lying if I said that I haven't fallen victim to quickly discarding of things, people, and even a few jobs because of certain hardships or difficulties that I thought to be too much to fight for, or simply not "worth" the time or energy to fight for. I'd also be lying if I said that some of those decisions didn't come with regret after a few months/years, and a lot of self reflection.

We unfortunately live in a time where things are just so easily disposable. No one wants to fight for anything anymore, and it's almost as if society encourages and rewards self centered behavior, and promotes the idea of tearing down others for the sole purpose of elevating 'self'.

People have become so selfish. Empathy for others is slowly diminishing, and compassion for others is nearly non-existent in some people's world, but I'm here to remind you that God did not create us to live our lives this way. He has called us to love others, to have compassion for others, to forgive.

Again, today's post isn't to convince you to fight for anything that you feel has run its course. It's also not meant to convince you to fight for anything in particular. This post is simply to encourage you to begin thinking about the very thing(s) in your life that might actually be worth fighting for.

If you didn't already know this, the enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy the very thing(s) that God himself has blessed us with. The very thing(s) that God truly wants us to have, and we must remember this when and/or if these things in our life come under attack. There are promises that God has given to us that He still wants to fulfill, but because of hardship or years of waiting with what sometimes appears to be little to no progress, we prematurely jump ship, and abandon the promise(s) of God, and ultimately forfeit the fight. The very fight that would propel us into the promised land. The very fight that would allow us to witness the true blessing and miracles of God.

My dear friends, I'd like to remind you today that no matter the circumstance, no matter the setback, no matter the mistake or the sin, there are things in your life, including YOU that is worth fighting for. Please remember that to God, YOU will always be worth it, and He will never stop fighting FOR you and on your behalf. He is a God that will meet us deep in our despair, and will go to war for each of us. That's just how much he loves us. That's just how much he values us.

If you've gotten to a place in your life where you've began to eliminate any and everything that doesn't "serve you"... or if you've gotten to a place where you feel that there is nothing in your life that is truly worth the fight, I'd like to encourage you to take some time to truly reflect. Spend some time with God in prayer, and ask Him to reveal the very things in your life that He would like you to fight for. Take a look at some things in your life and ask yourself a few simple questions...

  • What in my life is truly worth fighting for?

  • What in my life have I prematurely given up on that I should be fighting for?

My prayer is that God would reveal these very things/areas of your life to you, and that He would grant each of you the courage and the confidence to take back the very thing(s) that the enemy has tried to steal.

Keep on fighting… Keep on praying!
I love you all.

Until next time,
